User Registration for Document Delivery & Interlibrary Loan

  • To request items, please fill out the one-time registration form. Registering for an account allows you to easily place and receive requests in a secured online environment. An account is required to receive documents online.
  • After completing the New User Registration page, you will be taken to the Add Account/Code page. If you plan to charge your orders to your department, grant, or company, then please enter the account information there. Otherwise, you will be billed personally.
  • Note the links in the Tools section of the menu that allow you to change your password or update your user information and billing accounts/codes at any time.

About Your User Name and Password

During registration, you will be asked to choose a User Name and Password. You will use this User Name and Password to request and retrieve materials in this Document Delivery/Interlibrary Loan system.

For Your User Name: Choose anything you like, such as your name, abbreviations, or an alphanumeric code. This system does not automatically recognize existing UNTHSC or Lewis Library user names.

For Your Password: Choose a minimum of four characters. Passwords are case-sensitive. Please follow good security practices in choosing a password. Your password will be encrypted, so it will remain secure and only you will know it.

Sending Requests

  • Once registered, you can send a request by completing one of the New Request forms listed in the menu.
  • You also can send requests from many of our research databases using these buttons:     When you click the button, select the Interlibrary Loan link from the results page, and then log in, the citation information will be automatically passed to the appropriate request form. This will save you the work of typing it in or copying and pasting!

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
